Artwork for you to treasure.
| My Story |
My passion & interest for illustration & art has always been a part of who I am. Throughout my childhood & schooling & now into my adult years, dabbling in drawing & creating artwork has been a joyful experience.
I have always experimented with various mediums, however high quality graphite pencil is the finish I have grown to love, along with coloured & water-coloured pencil too. The ability to create detailed line illustrations is a skill I've worked at for many years & I'm very grateful to have the opportunity to continue to do so. I have a great love of animals & my inspiration for my work is often loved pets, past and present. I also enjoy illustrating portraits of people in graphite & any flora, fauna & still life subjects in colour.
My career in the arts has spanned a variety of areas, as a performer, choreographer & dance instructor & alongside this as an interior decorator & designer. The passion I have for creating high quality work & honing my craft I believe is reflected in my work & I’m thrilled to be reinvigorating this passion with my fineline illustrations.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure!

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will my illustration take once ordered?
I will be in touch on the day I am to start your fineline illustration & depending on the size, it will take 1-3 weeks. All my customers are happy to wait for their orders.
Do you ever use coloured pencil in your illustrations?
I use graphite for my fineline illustrations of pets & people, however where any flora, fauna or still life study is requested in colour, I am happy to oblige.
I have two pets, do I need both in the same photo to work from?
No, you can have separate photographs of your pets & I'll combine them into one portrait. As long as they are good quality images & in similar proportion.
Can you illustrate other subjects as well as pets?
YES!! If you get in touch with your photo example, I am happy to illustrate portraits of people (graphite) & flora, fauna & still life subjects (colour).
If I want to give a gift for a special occasion, how much notice do you require?
Ideally a few months as your order will be added to my current illustration list to be completed. If it is a last minute gift idea, a gift card can be presented to the recipient & they’ll know a special fineline illustration is on its way!
Do you frame your fineline illustrations?
I don't offer framing however if you would like any suggestions, I'm happy to discuss the best options for your portrait.
Do you cut the paper to size before posting?
This will be decided on based on what the customer would prefer.
Photography Guide
Sadie & Ringo |
A good quality photo, in full focus & taken from eye level where possible is best.
Natural light is preferred, so outdoor photos work very well with the light behind the photographer.
Cats can be more difficult to capture outdoors, so as seen in these two images the light picks up great detail in their faces with a source of light that is suitable.
The background of the photo isn't important, so focus in on the eyes of the animal & don't stand too far away.
Get a friend to help with some treats to keep the pets attention.
I will only include small collars & tags with names if requested, but no harnesses or bridles on the completed fineline illustrations.
*Any subject for illustration requires quality photo references.
